Lyle Holmgren

Community Leader. Former Mayor. Author. Neighbor.

For more than two decades, Lyle Holmgren has worked in and served the communities of Box Elder County, Utah.

His message is simple: we can disagree without becoming divided, and each of us can do something to make our communities better.

Helping Make Things Better

A LIFE OF SERVICE

"What if we spent less time arguing about what divides us and more time working on what brings us together?"

FROM THE FARM TO CITY HALL:

Lyle Holmgren's roots run deep in Tremonton and Box Elder County.

A former USU Extension agent, Lyle spent his career working with people and communities. He later served for 16 years on the Tremonton City Council before being elected mayor in 2021.

His family's commitment to civic leadership goes back even further. His grandfather began serving the community in the 1920s, creating a legacy Lyle has continued in his own way.

Today, Lyle and his wife, Kathy, remain active in the Tremonton community.

They have been married for 49 years and have five children, 23 grandchildren, and a home on a portion of the family farm in Tremonton.

For Lyle, community isn't a subject. It's a way of life.

BRING LYLE TO YOUR NEXT EVENT

A practical voice for a divided time.

Lyle speaks about the things he has spent his life practicing: civility, service, community, leadership, and finding common ground.

His talks draw from real experiences in local government, agriculture, family life, and decades of working alongside people with different backgrounds, opinions, and priorities.

Lyle's Speaking Topics:

Making Things Better

How ordinary people can improve the communities around them.

TO MAKE THINGS BETTER

Lyle's book about service, hope, and community.

Service is rooted. Hope grows. Community heals.

Drawing on two decades as mayor and city councilman, Lyle Holmgren shares stories of immigrants, farmers, public servants, and others who chose service over bitterness.

To Make Things Better is a practical and hopeful look at how we can strengthen our communities, even when we don't agree.

Because making things better starts much closer to home than we think.
